Creativity has always been part of how I make sense of the world.
Long before Dandelion Wise, and long before I began talking openly about intuition, I was an artist.
I hold a BFA in Illustration and an MFA in Painting from Rochester Institute of Technology, and my creative career has taken many forms over the years. I’ve worked as an illustrator, graphic designer, and creative director, with experience spanning marketing, journalism, publishing, product development, brand development, content creation, and campaign development.
I’m also a published author and illustrator and have illustrated more than 20 picture books for other authors.
For the past decade, I’ve worked as an entrepreneur and freelance creative professional. During much of that time, I built and ran Lellow Lolly, a creative brand centered around positivity, mindfulness, and encouraging good things in the young—and young at heart. I developed an original retail line of illustrated prints, cards, stickers, gifts, and other products, with Lellow Lolly designs carried for several years in Amy’s Hallmark stores throughout the Southeast. Eventually, I began to feel that I had taken Lellow Lolly as far as it wanted to go. Rather than continuing to make it bigger simply for the sake of growth, I wanted to make room for something broader—for more of my creative interests, experience, and the other parts of myself that were asking to be explored. Dandelion Wise grew, in part, from that opening.
How I work
Good creative work begins with understanding what it needs to accomplish.
I listen carefully to the objectives, the audience, and the practical needs of a project, then balance those considerations with creative instinct, professional experience, and strong visual problem-solving. My training and years of experience give me the foundation; intuition often helps me recognize the direction that feels most compelling.
Whether I’m developing a brand, creating a campaign, illustrating a story, designing a product, or solving a visual communication problem, I’m interested in work that is both thoughtful and effective—work that has a reason behind the choices being made.
Working Together
I’m available for select freelance and contract creative projects, including illustration, graphic design, branding and visual identity, creative direction, campaign development, and other projects where thoughtful ideas and strong visual communication matter.
You can explore examples of my professional, personal, and exploratory work on my Creative Capabilities page.
